1. Who we are

The GoGoProp platform (the "Platform") is operated by the GoGoProp group of companies ("GoGoProp", "we", "us", "our"). GoGoProp is a licensed digital property lender providing short-term bridging finance to overseas buyers of UK real estate.

Depending on where you are located and the service you use, the controller responsible for your personal data is:

For any data-protection questions, contact our data protection point of contact at support@gogoprop.com.

2. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal data of everyone who uses the Platform, including:

  • Borrowers and prospective borrowers ("clients") who submit enquiries and loan applications;
  • Brokers, introducers and other intermediaries who submit or manage deals on behalf of clients;
  • Directors, shareholders, beneficial owners and other connected individuals whose details are required for a loan application;
  • GoGoProp staff and authorised users who access the Platform's internal command centre.

4. Identity verification and biometric data

GoGoProp uses a third-party identity-verification and screening provider, Cynopsis Solutions ("Cynopsis"), to carry out identity, KYC, AML, PEP, sanctions and adverse-media checks.

Important - how this works. When identity verification is required, the Platform generates a secure link and directs you to Cynopsis's own environment to complete the check. Any biometric data (such as a facial scan or liveness check) and identity documents you provide during that process are collected and processed by Cynopsis directly, under Cynopsis's own privacy notice and terms. GoGoProp does not collect, store or receive your raw biometric data through the Platform.

GoGoProp receives from Cynopsis only the result and status of the check (for example, whether verification passed and whether any PEP, sanctions or adverse-media flags were raised), which we use to assess and process your loan application and to meet our legal anti-money-laundering obligations.

Some information we process (for example, data that may reveal a criminal-record match through sanctions or adverse-media screening) is treated as sensitive under applicable data-protection law. We process it only where permitted - principally to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations to prevent money laundering, financial crime and fraud, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We encourage you to read Cynopsis's own privacy notice before completing a verification check.

5. Why we use your data and our lawful bases

Under UK GDPR (and, for individuals in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance), we must have a valid basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:

PurposeLawful basis (UK GDPR)
Assessing enquiries, issuing decisions in principle, and administering loansPerformance of a contract / steps prior to entering a contract
Identity, KYC, AML, PEP, sanctions and adverse-media screeningCompliance with a legal obligation
Managing broker and introducer relationships and linked dealsLegitimate interests (operating and growing our lending business)
Securing, monitoring and improving the PlatformLegitimate interests (security and service quality)

Where we rely on consent (for example, certain marketing or non-essential cookies), you may withdraw it at any time.

6. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Verification and data providers - Cynopsis (identity, KYC, AML screening), HomeTrack (automated property valuations) and Property Data (property intelligence);
  • Brokers and introducers - where they are linked to your deal, limited to what they need to manage it;
  • Professional advisers - solicitors, valuers, accountants and auditors;
  • Funding and banking partners - where relevant to completing or servicing a loan;
  • Regulators, law-enforcement and public authorities - including the FCA, HMRC, the Hong Kong authorities and others, where required by law;
  • Technology and hosting providers - who operate the Platform's infrastructure under contract on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. International data transfers

Because GoGoProp operates across the United Kingdom and Hong Kong and serves clients internationally, your data may be transferred between these and other jurisdictions. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK, we use an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data-protection law - such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to a country covered by UK adequacy regulations. Copies of the relevant safeguards are available on request from support@gogoprop.com.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. In particular, records relating to identity verification, KYC and AML are generally retained for at least five years after the end of our business relationship or the completion of a transaction, as required by anti-money-laundering law. Where we no longer need data, we securely delete or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Subject to the applicable law in your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete data (subject to our legal retention obligations);
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request portability of data you provided to us;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it.

Some rights are limited where we must retain data to comply with anti-money-laundering and other legal obligations. To exercise any right, contact support@gogoprop.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

10. How we protect your data

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls and role-based permissions on the Platform, encryption of data in transit, secure hosting, audit logging, and staff confidentiality obligations. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to detect and respond to incidents.

11. Cookies

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies. For details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, see our separate Cookies Policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
